What is the Webcast About?
The complexity of MIMO designs, driven by the new LTE standards, is further increased as MIMO systems scale up to 8x8 configurations. Moreover, other requirements such as beamforming and carrier aggregation drive the need for test solutions that provide deep insight within these multiple domains.
Engineers who design and test advanced base stations, handsets and chipsets are looking for integrated solutions to model, implement and characterize their design. This presentation will review how the new standards will impact base station design methodologies and highlight some measurement challenges driven by the emergence and deployment of 8x8 MIMO.
These new measurement requirements drive the need for scalable hardware and software solutions, which will be presented with real measurement examples

Iyappan Ramachandran, R&D Engineer, Agilent Technologies, Inc.
Iyappan Ramachandran is an R&D Engineer in the Microwave and Communications Division of Agilent Technologies. He obtained his doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2006, and has since been working on the Agilent Technologies' 89600 Vector Signal Analyzer product on measurements for next-gen wireless communication systems. He helped create the LTE and LTE-Advanced measurements in the 89600 VSA, and most recently, its 8x8 MIMO analysis capability.
