Leading small cell systems vendor and manufacturer ip.access confirmed it had become the first 3G small cell provider to ship one million residential units.

Leading small cell innovator ip.access will use the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this month to showcase another breakthrough innovation.

ip.access has announced DOCOMO PACIFIC as the latest customer for its range of indoor home, office and enterprise 3G small cells.

ip.access has shipped an LTE-only version of its new E-100 dual mode access point to five customers for laboratory and field trials. This is an important staging point in the process of moving towards full commercial deployments and represents the company’s first LTE product shipments.

ip.access confirmed plans to build its first integrated LTE and 3G small cell. The new unit, codenamed the E-100, will be the first from the company to be based on the QorIQ Qonverge^®platform from US chip maker Freescale.
