The new Intel® 5G Modem is a milestone for the industry, enabling businesses across the globe to develop and launch early 5G solutions. It will accelerate the development of 5G-enabled devices – offering opportunities for leaders across diverse industries to innovate with early deployments.

NEC Corp. and Intel Corp. will collaborate to jointly develop the Cloud-Radio Access Network (Cloud-RAN) solution for virtualizing the functions of mobile base stations.

Verizon and Intel announced that the companies are working together to accelerate the development of the next-generation wireless technology, commonly known as 5G.

 Intel, a world leader in computing innovation, and Wipro Limited, a leading global information technology, consulting, and business process services company, announced that they are joining the International M2M Council (IMC), a global trade association for the growing industry known as the Internet of Things (or machine-to-machine communications). IMC, which has quickly gained over 10,000 members, comprised almost entirely of OEMs, enterprise users, and applications developers, aims to boost understanding and sales in IoT. 

Intel Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Lantiq, a leading supplier of broadband access and home networking technologies. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. The transaction is expected to close in approximately 90 days. Deal terms were not disclosed.

Anite has announced its participation in a project initiated by Intel to develop ‘virtualised’ testing environments in order to accelerate 4G and 5G technology development and testing.
