Wolfspeed Posts 46% Y/Y Growth, Hurt By ZTE Ban

Wolfspeed’s Q3 FY18 revenue grew 16 percent sequentially to $81.9 million, which was 46 percent above the prior year’s quarter. The power RF business acquired from Infineon on 6 March is hurt by the export ban to ZTE; ZTE contributed approximately 20 percent of the revenue in the RF power business in Q3.

Statement from ZTE on Activation of “Denial Order” by US Department of Commerce

ZTE issued a statement responding to the U.S. Department of Commerce denying export privileges to the company. The DoC action prevents U.S. companies from exporting products to ZTE for seven years. ZTE said "The Denial Order will not only severely impact the survival and development of ZTE, but will also cause damages to all partners of ZTE including a large number of U.S. companies."
