Pentek Inc., announced a new line of multiband, modular RF slot receivers: the Model 8111 series accepts RF signals over the range of 800 MHz to 3 GHz, downconverting them to a 225 MHz IF signal suitable for A/D conversion by any of several Pentek signal acquisition modules.

Agilent introduced the industry's first LTE-Advanced 8x8 MIMO signal-generation and analysis solutions. The offerings complement Agilent's other industry-first solutions for the LTE-Advanced standard.

TI’s BLE-Stack 1.3 includes over-the-air firmware downloads (OAD), which enable updates to CC2540/1 firmware to be downloaded from a central device, such as a phone, tablet or PC onto the CC2540/1 system-on-chip (SoC) directly over the RF link.

With IC-CAP 2013.01, Agilent introduces major improvements to its flagship product for high-frequency device modeling. One key improvement is turnkey extraction of the Angelov-GaN model, the industry standard compact device model for GaN semiconductor devices.

Anritsu Co. introduces three software packages supporting LTE-Advanced and five packages supporting IEEE802.11ac that extend the analysis capability of its MS269xA/MS2830A signal analyzers and MG3710A/MG3700A vector signal generators. With the software installed in the instruments, developers and manufacturers of LTE-Advanced UEs and components, as well as wireless LAN (WLAN) modules and devices have accurate solutions to verify performance, speed time-to-market, and lower cost-of-test.

The blog, “Kahn Academy—I’m a Fan!” lauds the Kahn Academy website, which provides over 3,500 online videos on all facets of education. It compares this education model to AWR’s own AWR.TV online video channel, which is a valuable resource for customers, university students, and anyone interested in AWR’s RF/microwave design software.
