Crane Aerospace & Electronics congratulates National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on the successful landing of Curiosity on the Gale Crater, Mars, with InterpointTM dc-dc converter and EMI filter modules on board. Curiosity’s goal is not to find Martian life, but rather to seek out carbon-based organic compounds that are the building blocks of life, and then to determine whether the Gale Crater landing site was ever suitable for creatures. The Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) was launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on November 26, 2011 via an Atlas V rocket.

Gowanda Electronics, a designer and manufacturer of precision electronic components for RF and power applications, announced that the company recently achieved failure rate Level R for its MIL-PRF-39010 RF Inductors – ER10M Series and ER17S Series. These thru-hole series meet the military’s Qualified Product List (QPL) requirements for Established Reliability (ER). Such approval requires extensive testing for electrical, environmental, mechanical and thermal performance

Harris Corp. has received a $10 million order to supply the Government of Canada with Falcon III® multiband manpack radios and satellite terminals.

API Technologies Corp. announced the promotion of Bel Lazar to the position of president and chief executive officer of API Technologies Corp., effective August 1, 2012. Brian Kahn, who previously held the positions of chairman and chief executive officer, will continue to serve as chairman of the board. Bel Lazar joined API on February 28, 2011 as president and chief operating officer.

AR Modular RF has received JITC certification for its KMW2030 tactical radio amplifier system (30 MHz to 512 MHz / 125 watts) when used with the Harris PRC-117G tactical radio. It has been previously certified for use with the PRC 117F and the PSC-5D. The KMW2030 was tested along with its associated low noise SATCOM pre-amp, the KMW2030P.
