RF Micro Devices Inc. announced it has been selected to support multiple next-generation devices for a leading manufacturer of 3G/4G smartphones. The next-generation devices include a highly anticipated LTE smartphone that will feature multiple variants of RFMD's family of ultra-high efficiency WCDMA and 4G LTE power amplifiers.

NXP Software is demonstrating new smart player solutions for TV and Video on Demand (VOD) at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012. Tektronix Inc. announced a series of new models, options and enhancements to its popular MSO/DPO4000B and MSO/DPO3000 mixed signal oscilloscope series, helping to address a broader range of embedded system test and debug needs at more aggressive price points.

ANADIGICS Inc. announced that the company is shipping production volumes of its ALT6705, AWT6621 and AWT6624 fourth generation High-Efficiency-at-Low-Power (HELP4™) power amplifiers (PA) and AWC6323 dual-band third generation High-Efficiency-at-Lower-Power (HELP3E™) PAs to Samsung Electronics for Samsung Galaxy Note.  The AWT6621 powers the Galaxy Note I9228 (TD-SCDMA) and the AWC6323 powers the Galaxy Note I889 (CDMA), both available in the China market. The ALT6705, AWT6621 and AWT6624 power the Galaxy Note SHV-E160L available in Korea.

Gowanda Electronics has achieved the highest level of certification on three surface-mount power inductor series. Gowanda’s three “MLP” series have been added to the military’s Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime Qualified Products List (QPL) for MIL-PRF-27 Level T. This is the highest quality level attainable per the Department of Defense military specification MIL-PRF-27 for components used in high-reliability critical military applications. Gowanda is the first in the industry to offer these Level T components.

 The M2M market is largely characterized by cellular module shipments and connections. China’s cellular connection revenue, which constitutes more than one-third of the Asia-Pacific’s (APAC) M2M market, is expected to grow from $642 million in 2011 to $2.76 billion in 2016.
