San-tron Inc., a leading manufacturer of RF and microwave coaxial connectors and cable assemblies, has introduced its new line of SRX™ cable assemblies for low PIM requirements. The SRX line is an engineered suite of low PIM cable assemblies designed to support system integrators. Several different deployment scenarios encompassing cabinet integration, short cable runs or jumper applications, long haul cable runs, indoor use, outdoor use, riser, and plenum environments, have been accommodated for and include interconnect options for SMA, N, 7/16, and TNC mating.

NuWaves Engineering of Middletown, Ohio, an international Radio Frequency (RF) and Embedded Systems solutions provider, will be exhibiting its high-performance, miniaturized RF products and also demonstrating its most recent technological advancement, a Power Amplifier Linearizer Module (“PALM”) at MILCOM 2012. 

TriQuint Semiconductor Inc., a leading RF products manufacturer and foundry services provider, is introducing four new rugged GaN HEMT RF power transistors that offer superior gain and efficiency. TriQuint’s GaN transistors can cut the size of amplifier line-ups in half while improving efficiency and gain.

KEMET Corp., a leading manufacturer of tantalum, ceramic, aluminum, film, paper and electrolytic capacitors, and Modelithics have partnered to provide highly accurate and scalable Global™ models of KEMET’s CBR Series of capacitors, sizes 0201, 0402, 0603, and 0805, for RF and microwave applications. As an innovation for this work, aimed at improved design centering, Modelithics used actual low frequency capacitance of parts used for RF model development instead of assumed nominal part value.  

Analog Devices Inc. introduced a new family of microwave ICs, the ADF55xx series voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs), for point-to-point (PtP), instrumentation/ test equipment and satellite communication applications. Featuring the industry’s leading phase-noise performance, the new ADF55xx VCO series covers a frequency range from 3.5 GHz to 13.9 GHz, offers a wide frequency tuning range and can be optimized for power consumption, phase noise and power output.

ViaSat Inc. has received orders in excess of $11 million for Joint IP Modem Network Control Centers (NCCs), remote modems, and Joint IP Modem enhancements. These production contracts enable the Department of Defense to complete its roll out of interoperable network services to warfighters from teleports and Strategic Tactical Entry Points (STEPs). In addition, the orders include further development of the Joint IP Modem to enable efficient regional connectivity within a larger global network footprint. These awards follow successfully deliveries against previous contract obligations.

Computer Simulation Technology (CST) will be previewing CST STUDIO SUITE 2013 and its new design environment at EuMW 2012, booth #217. The increasingly complex tasks design engineers face today require a large number of sometimes specialised features. Simulation software vendors such as CST have enhanced their tools to accommodate these requirements.

Despite the hype around the decline of PNDs and the rise of smartphone applications, there is a long-term future for dedicated GPS devices. Total GPS device revenues are forecast to grow from $6.5 billion in 2011 to over $8 billion in 2017. With the exception of PNDs, all device categories grew in 2011, including cycling computers, golf caddies, and recreational devices.

Linear Technology Corp. introduces three low power 16-bit, 20Msps analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), the LTC2269, LTC2270 and LTC2271, offering the lowest input-referred noise and tight integral nonlinearity error (INL) for very high precision DC measurements. With only 46µV_RMS input noise and maximum guaranteed INL error of ±2.3LSB, these ADCs are suitable for very low noise, high linearity sampling applications such as digital x-ray, infrared and medical imaging, pachymeters, spectrometry and cytometry.
