National Instruments announced its collaboration with TU-Dresden on the exploration of new technologies for 5G wireless systems using NI LabVIEW system design software.

State of the Art Inc. (SOTA) announces the offering of their Z termination line of miniature, high reliability chip resistors. Thin film single surface and wrap around designs. The resistors range in size form 0402 (0.040" x 0.020") to 2512 (0.025" x 0.025"), with tolerances from 0.1 percent, power ratings from 50 to 1500 mW temperature coefficients of resistance as low as 25 ppm, and voltage ratings from 30 to 200 V. The operating range for these resistors is from -55° to + 125°C.

RFMW announces its participation and attendance at the IEEE International Microwave Symposium 2012 (IMS 2012). Silicon Laboratories Inc., a leader in high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed-signal ICs, announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Boston-based Ember Corp. for initial consideration of $72 million, subject to an adjustment for certain working capital amounts and potential earn-out consideration. Ember is a late-stage private company offering market-leading silicon, software and development tools for 2.4 GHz wireless mesh networking solutions being deployed in smart energy, connected home, security, lighting, and many other monitoring and control applications.

Computer Simulation Technology AG (CST) and EMSS - EM Software & Systems-S.A. (Pty) Ltd announced the release of the fourth major version of Antenna Magus. With this major version 4.0 release, Antenna Magus has crossed the 200 antenna mark – a significant number of antenna designs –  further entrenching the product as the world’s leading antenna design tool.

The IMS 2012 Women in Microwaves reception will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 17:30-19:30, at Museum of Archeology and History of Montréal (Pointe-à-Callière - point in the Old Port named after the third governor of Montréal, Chevalier Louis Hector de Callière, who had his house built on this very location in 1688). The museum opened its doors in 1992, on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the city. It reveals remarkable findings of archeological digs which started in 1980. They display the evidence of human activity on this location for the last one thousand years. The reception will be held in the Restaurant L'Arrivage, located on the top floor of the museum. Glass-walled, the venue offers spectacular views of the Old Port.
