IMS 2012 focuses on the future with 51 doctorate student sponsorships

Fifty-one doctorate students from 12 countries will receive sponsorships to attend the IEEE MTT-S 2012 International Microwave Symposium (IMS 2012), June 17-22, 2012 in Montréal. The program is part of a new initiative established and sponsored by the IEEE MTT-S Administrative Committee (ADCOM) specifically targeted toward students who have not previously attended IMS to increase their education in RF and microwave engineering.

CTIA Returns to the Big Easy

New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA) served as the host city for this years’ International CTIA WIRELESS® 2012 from May 8th through the 10th at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. This was the first post-Katrina return to the city that had been home to several past CTIA events and New Orleans welcomed the industry back with open arms, smoking hot music and spectacular dining. The event this year was held almost 6 weeks later than previous years in order to put some distance between the largest dedicated mobile-industry gathering in North America and its European counterpart, Mobile World Congress. I’m pleased to report that NOLA has come roaring back and is ready, willing and able to continue its legacy in hospitality, especially for an event the size of this one.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police places order for Anritsu S412E LMR Master

Anritsu Co. announces that the Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) Electronics, Munitions and Tactical Systems Procurement Directorate, Defense and Major Projects Sector has provided a National Master Standing Offer (NMSO) for the S412E LMR Master™ handheld analyzer from Anritsu. Due in part to the NMSO, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has purchased 18 LMR Masters and expects to buy more over a three-year period.
