The NGMN Alliance officially welcomes BT, SingTel, Tele2, Turkcell, VimpelCom, Broadcom and University of Toronto, which have all recently joined NGMN. With these new partners, the NGMN Alliance membership base now comprises 22 global mobile network operators, 33 major telecom vendors and 12 international research institutions.

Harris awarded $150M contract for FAA's nextgen data communications program

Harris Corp., has received authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration to begin work on the seven-year, $150 million Data Communications Network Services (DCNS) element of its Data Communications Integrated Services (DCIS) program. DCNS will help to transition U.S. air traffic control from primarily analog voice communications to digital data connectivity — significantly increasing the efficiency and safety of the nation's air traffic control system.

Comtech receives $1.4M for solid-state power amplifiers for military applications

Comtech Telecommunications Corp.announced that its Santa Clara, CA-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology Inc., has received an additional $1.4 million in orders to supply solid-state high-power amplifiers to a military integrator. The orders included X-band, C-Band and Ku-band SSPA products for use in highly mobile satellite communications (SATCOM) systems providing voice, data, video conferencing, internet and high resolution video connectivity for military forces deployed world-wide.
