Plextek Promotes Custom Designed GaAs MMICs to Save Money

May 20, 2010

Plextek’s Director of RF Integration, Liam Devlin, will make a presentation on how to save money by using custom designed GaAs MMICs at the Microwave Applications (MicroApps) seminar taking place during the 2010 International Microwave Symposium (IMS). This year’s IMS takes place from May 23-28 in Anaheim, CA. The presentation will look at how significant cost savings can be achieved and discusses the advantages of being able to precisely define the required functionality and performance.

“Traditionally people assume that custom designed MMICs are expensive and there’s no way that cost savings can be achieved by using them,” said Devlin. “Furthermore, why should they bother when virtually all of the building blocks required in any microwave system are commercially available? However, by being able to specify the exact function of the device, and if the volume requirements are sufficient, I’ll be arguing that significant savings can be achieved and performance improved.”

The presentation will take place on Tuesday, May 25th at 12:50 p.m. at Booth 524 on the exhibition show floor.
