Applied Radar Selected to Present Student Project

May 3, 2010

The Applied Radar Inc. sponsored University of Rhode Island (URI) capstone design team has been selected to be one of 10 to 15 student teams nationwide to present their project at the 2010 Capstone Design Conference in Boulder, CO in June of this year. The team was selected for their work entitled, “Cylindrical/Spherical Near-Field Antenna Measurement System,” which encompassed all aspects of design, including developing specifications, mechanical design, electrical and RF design, motion control, data collection, and data processing. The capstone design project is a required part of the engineering curriculum at URI, as well as several other engineering schools nationwide. According to Applied Radar CEO William Weedon, it is also a way for the company to evaluate and train perspective employees. This is the second year that Applied Radar has sponsored a capstone design team and several of the team members have been extended employment offers by Applied Radar.
