Travel to San Diego

The San Diego airport (Lindberg Field) is served by over 25 domestic and international airlines. The airport is only a short distance from the convention center. Average taxi fare is less than $10.00 and is charged by the ride, not by the passenger. Major rental car companies are available at the airport. Shuttle services are also available and many of the hotels offer complimentary shuttles. Amtrak provides rail service from Los Angeles with continuing service to Santa Barbara and San Francisco. Phone 800-USA-RAIL or e-mail: service@sales.amtrak.com.

Hotels

While there are many nearby hotels, there are three hotels with convention rates. The headquarters hotel is the Marriott Hotel and Marina, located next to the convention center. The nearest hotel to Halls G and H is the Omni San Diego, directly across the street. The Embassy Suites San Diego – Downtown is a short distance away. For on-line booking information, go to www.radiowireless.org and click on “Hotel Information.” Transportation from the hotels will not be provided. The hotels on W. Harbor Drive are within walking distance. The downtown hotels are served by a light rail trolley that stops in front of the convention center.
