Simulation Competition, Powered by CST STUDIO SUITE Student Edition, at EuMW 2017

September 29, 2017

Computer Simulation Technology (CST), part of SIMULIA, a Dassault Systèmes brand, will host the CST Modeling Challenge at European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2017, Stand 105. Entrants will design and simulate a waveguide filter, and all successful participants will be entered into a prize draw.

The competition will use CST STUDIO SUITE Student Edition, a free version of CST’s industry-leading simulation software to help students study Maxwell’s equations and get experience with real state-of-the-art tools.

The challenge will be to model a simple iris waveguide filter, simulate it, and adjust the iris opening in order to tune the filter to the desired frequency. The competition is open to both simulation users and those without past experience of EM simulation and CST STUDIO SUITE, and CST staff will be on hand to help beginners get to grips with the software. For students who want to practice with the software, CST STUDIO SUITE Student Edition can be downloaded from www.cst.com/eumw-2017.

All successful participants will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win. The draw will be held at the CST booth party at 16:30 on Wednesday October 11. All EuMW attendees are invited to enjoy the complimentary buffet and drinks.

“The CST Modeling Challenge gives students and engineers unfamiliar with EM simulation the chance to experience it first hand,” said Dr. Martin Timm, director Global Marketing, CST. “Not only is it a way to unwind between conference sessions, but it also offers the opportunity to learn about EM simulation from experts in the field.”
