NXP advises Chinese officials on smart manufacturing

Company representatives from NXP Semiconductors visited Rudong, Jiangsu province, China to exchange ideas on strengthening the development of smart manufacturing in Rudong. They met with Mr Pan Jianhua, Rudong Governor and member of National People’s Congress Committee.

Headquartered in Rudong Economic Development Zone, Datang NXP Semiconductors – China’s first automotive semiconductor company – commenced operations in 2014. The company develops market leading semiconductor solutions supporting the growing demand for new automotive energy technologies for electric and hybrid vehicles in China.

According to Mr Pan: “Rudong is now at a critical point of modern industrialization. In today’s mega trend of informatization, we look at the big picture of nationwide emerging industries. Through our cooperation with NXP, the world’s leading semiconductors company in secure connections, we are committed to contributing to the development of smart manufacturing.”

“NXP plays an active role in driving collaboration between key industrial enterprises from China and Germany in the field of smart manufacturing and security, taking concrete steps towards ‘Industry 4.0’ based on The Plan of Action for Sino-Germany Cooperation,” said Li Zheng, senior vice president, global sales and marketing, Greater China and China country manager. “We are pleased to see Rudong also playing an important role in the promotion of Industry 4.0. NXP is committed to sustainable development in China – collaborating with industrial partners and providing Chinese customers with secure connections for a smarter world.”

Mr Cao Bin, Chairman of Datang Telecom, expressed his sincere thanks to the Rudong Government for their strong support. He said: “By integrating the advantages of Datang Telecom and NXP, we expect more cooperation in the areas of the Internet of Things (IOT) and smart transportation. The cooperation will also aim to support the local IC industry to achieve the goal of high-end technology and development.”

During the meeting, Dr. Keith Leng, Greater China senior business development manager, NXP Semiconductors, introduced development trends and NXP’s strategies for Industry 4.0. He shared NXP’s latest solutions for industrial automation control and industrial informatization with Rudong’s officials.
