HSI's video demonstrates cable delivering exceptional phase stability under flexure

September 4, 2014

High Speed Interconnects, an extruder and manufacturer of high-performance coaxial cable and coaxial cable assemblies, has released a new video comparing the phase stability under flexure of a competitor coaxial cable assembly versus HSI’s coaxial cable using its proprietary VP90™ expanded PTFE (ePTFE).

Not only does the HSI cable assembly outperform the competitor’s insertion-loss, the HSI cable phase stability trace remains rock steady, even after its wrapped tightly around a 2.25" in diameter mandrel and crumbled. Conversely, the competitor phase stability trace fluctuates wildly under flexure and does not return to its original state even after it is no longer flexed.

Today’s high performance systems demand interconnects to be flexed in any direction while delivering exceptional signal integrity at high data speeds, regardless of environment. All of HSI’s 16-52AWG coaxial cables are extruded to withstand flexure and terminated to transmit signal’s without compromising VSWR, insertion loss and phase stability.

HSI’s high performance VP90™ coaxial cables are available terminated to a variety of connectors, which are not limited to SMA’s, MMCX, MMPX, SMP, SSMP’s; 0.5, 0.4, 0.3 and  0.275 mm connectors; or in very high-density scenarios, the coaxial cable can be terminated directly to the board.
