10 Mbps Bit Synchronizer
The model AVME 335 full-function, 10 Mbps tunable bit synchronizer is suited for use in reconstructing a noisy input pulse code modulation (PCM) data stream and providing a clean PCM signal with a coherent clock. The synchronizer is tunable over the bit rate range of 10 bps to 10 Mbps for nonreturn to zero codes and 5 Mbps for all other codes, producing an output data stream with a bit error rate within 1 dB of theory. The unit maintains effective synchronization down to an Eb/No of –3 dB and acquisition time is less than 20 transitions in noise. The loop bandwidth can be set anywhere from 0.01 to 1.60 percent without losing phase lock.

Phase Shifters/Frequency Translators
The 77 series phase shifters/frequency translators now provide 10-bit digital control. Models are available for the 0.5 to 2, 2 to 6, 4 to 12 and 6 to 18 GHz bands. The units employ an integrated assembly of an RF vector modulator and a high speed driver circuit and achieve a phase shift of 0° to 360° in 0.35° steps with phase accuracy better than 10° up to 10 GHz and 12° to 18 GHz. Switching speed is better than 500 ns. The units exhibit carrier and sideband suppression levels of over 25 and 20 dB, respectively, at translation rates up to 500 kHz.

VSAT High Speed Modem
The model STEL-9260 very small aperture terminal (VSAT) modem features direct RF output covering the 52 to 88 MHz IF range and programmable power levels from –5 to –25 dBm. The receiver is a true variable-rate demodulator that is user programmable from 19.6 to 1024 kbps binary phase-shift keying and 64 to 2048 kbps quadrature phase-shift keying. The modem tracks input frequency drift up to ±2 MHz without the loss of signal lock. Price: $2100 each (100).

Digital Video Exciter
The DVE series Compressed Digital Video Exciter™ is a compact solution for satellite uplink applications. The unit integrates an all-in-one modulator and RF conversion function with DiviCom’s MediaView™ model MV10 program encoder, resulting in a two-rack unit, fully integrated solution that combines Motion Picture Experts Group-2 encoding, digital video broadcasting modulation and RF conversion functions in one package. Operating at data rates from 1.5 to 15 Mbps, the unit provides selectable horizontal video resolutions up to 704 pixels per line with 576 and 480 lines of vertical resolution for programmable array logic and National Television Systems Committee requirements, respectively.
