Most Popular Content of 2013
2013 was a big year for Microwave Journal as we launched a new conference and exhibition, EDI CON, in Beijing, China and continued to grow Microwave Journal China. We also released a mobile app that includes the magazine, archived issues and real-time feeds for industry news, blog postings and executive interviews. David and I also recently started a bi-weekly industry update videos series called Frequency Matters.
We are kicking off the New Year with another first for our industry with an interactive magazine that will add augmented reality to our print issues using the app called Layar. It is a free app that allows readers to scan pages with a mobile device and the app overlays digital information like videos, animations, picture galleries, links to white papers/datasheets and more. This will enrich the reading experience allowing readers to learn more about the technology or products being covered.
There were several big articles and happenings this past year. The most popular news items tended to be important acquisitions while our cover stories dominated the most popular articles covering new technologies such as the Mobius Strip resonator (Drs. Rohde and Poddar of Synergy) and the first ever completely integrated 4G CMOS RF front end (Qualcomm). Here are the most popular news items and articles by quarter and the most popular videos and downloads for the 2013.
