Anite leads LTE-A CA test case validations at PTCRB

Anite, a global leader in wireless equipment testing technology, has achieved validation for the most number of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) Carrier Aggregation (CA) protocol test cases by the PTCRB (a wireless device certification forum led by North American mobile operators). The company used its Conformance Toolset for protocol conformance testing to validate the greatest number of distinct LTE-A CA test cases, more than any other testing equipment vendor and in more inter-band combinations.

Anite worked closely with leading chipset and device manufacturers from the US, Korea and China to develop and validate these test cases which will now become part of the PTCRB device certification requirements mandated by North American mobile operators. As a result of the company’s expertise in driving the development of LTE-A CA testing capability, device and chipset manufacturers are able to accelerate the development of LTE-A products.

LTE-A, the next stage in mobile telecommunications, will extend the features of LTE to deliver the equivalent of a high speed, fixed-line broadband experience to mobile device users. LTE-A CA enables mobile operators to achieve superior data rates through combining spectrum resources. Anite expects to validate LTE-A CA test cases for Global Certification Forum (GCF) member operators at the October 2013 GCF meeting in further FDD- and TDD-LTE bands.

“These LTE-A CA validations further underline Anite’s protocol test case leadership and the strength of our collaborative relationships with leading chipset and device manufacturers”, said Paul Beaver, Products Director at Anite. He continued, “Along with clear product maturity, these close collaborations enable us to continue to pioneer the development of new testing capability for cutting-edge technologies such as LTE-A and beyond.”
