Rohde & Schwarz demonstrates its expertise in T&M at EuMW 2013

August 12, 2013

At EuMW, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate its R&S FSW high-end signal and spectrum analyzer equipped with the new R&S FSW-K160R measurement option, which supports realtime signal analysis for frequencies up to 50 GHz with an analysis bandwidth of 160 MHz. This makes it possible to detect interfering signals to the exact level and without gaps – all using a single, extremely fast measuring instrument with outstanding RF characteristics. It also makes the R&S FSW ideal for the development, verification and production of components and equipment used in radar applications as well as for satellite, military and civil communications systems.

Plus Rohde & Schwarz has doubled the maximum analysis bandwidth of the R&S FSW from 160 MHz to 320 MHz, making it the only signal and spectrum analyzer on the market to date that can process signals in this bandwidth. This gives the analyzer a competitive edge in a variety of applications related to wideband digital communications and radar systems.

R&S ZNB network analyzers up to 20 GHz and 40 GHz

Rohde & Schwarz will also be presenting its two new midrange vector network analyzers, the R&S ZNB20 for the frequency range from 100 kHz to 20 GHz and the R&S ZNB40 for the 10 MHz to 40 GHz range. The measurement characteristics of both analyzers are at a level comparable with high-end instruments. A dynamic range of up to 135 dB makes the instruments perfect for tasks such as performing measurements on high-blocking DUTs such as filters. Thanks to their compact hardware platform, the analyzers take up less space than other similar instruments. The large 16:9 format touchscreen makes operation easy.

High-end R&S SMW200A vector signal generator for complex multichannel scenarios

The new high-end R&S SMW200A vector signal generator will also be on display at the booth. This signal generator combines a baseband generator, RF generator and MIMO fading simulator all in a single instrument. The vector signal generator covers the frequency range from 100 kHz to 3 GHz or 6 GHz and features an I/Q modulation bandwidth of 160 MHz with internal baseband. The R&S SMW200A can be equipped with an optional second RF path for frequencies up to 6 GHz and with a maximum of two baseband and four fading simulator modules. Exceptional modulation and RF characteristics make it ideal for developing high-end components, modules and complete products for broadband communications systems such as LTE-Advanced and WLAN IEEE 802.11ac. The generator performs especially well when it comes to the verification of 3G and 4G base stations as well as in aerospace and defense applications.

Coaxial R&S NRP-Z58 power sensor measures from DC to 110 GHz

The R&S NRP-Z58 is another highlight. It is the world's first coaxial power meter that continuously covers the frequency range from DC to 110 GHz. The sensor's high measuring speed of more than 300 measurements per second in buffered mode allows especially fast power measurements. At 55 dB (–35 dBm to 20 dBm), it offers the largest dynamic range in its frequency range of any thermal power sensor on the market. When performing relative measurements such as amplification and reflection measurements, the R&S NRP-Z58 delivers extremely precise measurement results thanks to its high linearity of 0.01 dB. The ball bearing 1.00 mm coaxial plug can be conveniently and securely screwed onto the socket of the device under test. Like all thermal power sensors from Rohde & Schwarz, the R&S NRP-Z58 can be connected directly to a PC via a USB interface in order to analyze measurement results.
