Sleepless 'til Seattle

May 6, 2013

With about a month to go until the industry convenes in Seattle for the annual IEEE MTT-S IMS event, Microwave Journal is working night and day (well, day anyway) to prepare for the show. Our May issue is at the printer and will soon be mailed to subscribers and shipped to Seattle for major distribution at the show. Thanks to all of our advertisers for your continued support. The issue looks great.

The MWJ team will be on-site in full force again this year, with more than a dozen editors and marketing advisors roaming the aisles of the exhibition hall, looking to support your presence and to keep you updated on our latest initiatives. Don’t forget to send your pre-show news to the editors for inclusion in our digital products, including the Online Show Dailies, which will commence soon. There are still a few exclusive sponsorship opportunities available for those interested in additional pre-show promotion.

The MWJ booth (#825) will feature several new additions to our portfolio, including the Mobile App and an Augmented Reality (AR) sample. You can download the Mobile App at our booth and view the digital edition on an iPad (or it is available here). The AR poster in our booth illustrates how you can create special content areas inside your print ad that provides online content (video, audio, interactive 3D animations) linking the print product to the digital world. It’s kind of like QR codes on steroids. We’ll also be showing highlights of EDI CON 2013 and providing details on next year’s China event. Oh, and don’t forget to pick up the annual MTT-Shirt when you visit us!

We’re now putting the finishing touches on the June issue of MWJ. This issue is focused on “Semiconductors, MMICs and RFICs” and addresses the latest innovations in this sector. The deadline for ad space is May 15th, so contact your MWJ representative if interested.

A somewhat smaller MWJ team will be in Las Vegas the week of May 19th for CTIA and the RF/Microwave Pavilion that we organize there.  Between that show and preparations for IMS, it looks to be a busy month of May. We’ll have to catch up on sleep when all the fun is over.

I look forward to seeing many of you in the coming weeks.

Regards,
