MSC distributes Precision Devices' Products in DACH region

March 5, 2012

In order to better serve customer demand for high-end crystals, voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXO), temperature compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO), oven controlled crystal oscillators (OXCO) and crystal filters, MSC Vertriebs GmbH has signed a distribution agreement for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (the DACH region) with Precision Devices UK Ltd.

Precision Devices Inc. (PDI) was founded in 1977 and has its origins in crystal filters for military applications. With design and production facilities in Middleton (USA), Cambridge (UK) and Nanjing (China), the company is a worldwide leader in crystal frequency control devices. It is an ISO 9001:2008 certified company and, in response to customer request, also offers product qualifications according to military specifications MIL-PRF-3098 and MIL-PRF-55310.

“Precision Devices has already demonstrated that their innovative products are in demand in the DACH region, particularly when more difficult specifications with small quantities are required. PDI’s VCXOs, TCXOs, OXCOs and crystal filters are an ideal complement to our existing product portfolio,” said Rolf Aschhoff, Sales and Marketing Director Frequency Division at MSC.

Chris Emmerson, EMEA Sales Manager of Precision Devices UK Ltd, added, “The DACH region is the largest in Europe and requires a technically competent partner that can reach and support our customers. To be successful, we need a strong and recognized distributor like MSC who is in a position to actively support customer design-in for growing segments such as test and measurement, industrial and medical. Working together with MSC will help us achieve this goal.”

Besides the development and manufacture of primarily customer-specific and application-specific VCXOs, TCXOs and OCXOs, another strong point of PDI is in supplying discontinued or for other reasons hard-to-find devices for test and measurement, industrial, medical, consumer and telecom applications.
