Emerson announces optical transceiver for military and aerospace market

February 7, 2012

Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions, a business of Emerson and a leader in protecting and optimizing critical infrastructure, announced version two of its highly successful, integrated quad optical transceiver developed specifically for the military and aerospace marketplace.

The Stratos H2 transceiver is a quad port device packaged into a one inch square package with a height of less than .285 inches. This compact package makes it ideal for demanding applications where space and performance are critical. The fiber optic I/O on this device is achieved through the Stratos optical flex circuit technology. The use of optical flex interconnect provides total customer flexibility in defining the length, routing and termination of the fiber connectivity. The device supports data rates up to 2.125G providing an ideal solution for Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet applications.

Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions, Stratos optical devices are designed for the demanding environmental requirements of the military and aerospace marketplace. These designs typically support operational temperature range of -40° to 85°C, and have been designed to perform in the high shock and vibration environments in which these military and aerospace systems are deployed. The new hybrid transceiver is no exception to this philosophy.

The Stratos H2 optical transceiver is available now with a standard lead time of 12 to 16 weeks. An evaluation board is also available allowing customers to test and evaluate all of the device features.
