Time Delay/Phase Shifter: HMC877LC3

January 17, 2011

Chelmsford, MA, 11/4/2011 - Hittite Microwave Corp., the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets announces the release of the HMC877LC3 8 to 23 GHz Time Delay/Phase Shifter. The HMC877LC3 is ideal for clock chain and skew adjustment in 10 G-RZ, 40 G/100 G RZ-DQPSK fiber optic applications.

The HMC877LC3 is the first Time Delay/Phase Shifter product in the market to provide up to 1.4 UI (500°) continuously adjustable delay over a wide 8 to 23 GHz frequency range, while maintaining a constant differential output voltage. The device accepts either single-ended or differential input signals, while providing a 500 to 900 mVp-p programmable differential output swing.

The HMC877LC3 provides a time delay/phase shift which is linearly monotonic with respect to the differential delay control voltage, over a ±0.6V tuning range. On chip compensation circuitry ensures an extremely stable programmable time delay over both frequency and temperature. A high delay control modulation bandwidth (3 dB rolloff point) of 2.5 GHz combined with single +3.3V operation also make the HMC877LC3 ideal for phase modulation in military & space, test & measurement and broadband applications.

The HMC877LC3 complements many of Hittite’s previously released limiting amplifiers, modulator drivers and high speed logic products to provide a complete solution set for fiber optic and test equipment applications. The HMC877LC3 is housed in a ceramic 3 x 3 mm SMT package (RoHS compliant), and is fully specified for operation from -40 °C to +85 °C.

Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company’s e-commerce site or via direct purchase order. Released data sheets are available on-line at the company’s website. Click the link below our logo on this page.
