SMT Digital Attenuators: HMC939LP4E and HMC941LP4E

January 17, 2011

New 5-bit MMIC attenuators offer the widest bandwidth in the industry.

Chelmsford, MA, September 29, 2011 - Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced two new SMT packaged MMIC 5-bit digital attenuators which are ideal for automotive, microwave radio, test equipment, military and space applications up to 33 GHz.

The HMC939LP4E is a wideband SMT GaAs MMIC 5-Bit Digital Attenuator which is rated from 0.1 to 33 GHz. This wideband attenuator product exhibits insertion loss as low as 4 dB, and can be programmed to provide up to 31 dB attenuation in 1.0 dB steps. The HMC941LP4E is a wideband SMT GaAs MMIC 5-Bit Digital Attenuator which is rated from 0.1 to 33 GHz. This wideband attenuator product exhibits insertion loss as low as 4 dB, and can be programmed to provide up to 15.5 dB attenuation in 0.5 dB steps.

The HMC939LP4E and HMC941LP4E feature excellent attenuation accuracy of ± 0.3 dB and fast switching speed of 90 ns, and both accept positive control voltages of 0/+3V or 0/+5V. The HMC939LP4E and HMC941LP4E also exhibit high input IP3 performance of up to +45 dBm, allowing them to be used in various locations within a microwave or millimeterwave transceiver. The HMC939LP4E and the HMC941LP4E are housed in RoHS compliant, 4 x 4 mm QFN packages.

The HMC939LP4E and HMC941LP4E are also offered in bare die form as the HMC939 and the HMC941. The HMC939LP4E and HMC941LP4E complement Hittite’s extensive line of control components, including the widest selection of MMIC digital attenuators available from any OEM.
