Wideband High Power Amplifiers

January 17, 2011

MITEQ Inc. introduces a new addition to its family of wideband high power amplifiers. The AMF-6B-14001535-50-40P is a connectorized Ku-Band high power linear amplifier/module, covering 14 to 15.35 GHz and delivering over 10 W at P1dB.

The connectorized aluminum housing is 1 inch high, including the top fins, 2.8 inch wide and 4.6 inch long, excluding the connectors, heatsink with fan pack and the standard field replaceable isolator in addition to the 28V option shown in the picture. It is intended for bolting to a flat cooling surface. Housing is environmentally sealed, EMI shielded and hermetic sealing option is also available.

This module has internal regulation, over voltage, temperature and reverse polarity protection. Single +12 to +15V supply is required and 28V is optional. The power amplifier is fully compliant over a base temperature range of -30 to +60°C.

Nominal small-signal gain is near 40 dB with gain flatness of less than ±1.5 dB. RF port VSWRs are less than 1:1.5 at input and 1:2 at output and noise figure is less than 5 dB. Output IP3 is typically 47 dBm. Current draw from +15V is nominally 7A and 7.5A at P1dB. In addition to heatsink and fan pack, TTL control option is also available.
