HMC663LC3

January 17, 2011

hmc663lc3_SThe HMC663LC3 is a general purpose, double-balanced mixer that is housed in a 3x3 mm ceramic SMT package and can be used as an upconverter or downconverter. Optimized balun structures allow the HMC663LC3 to provide up to 42 dB of LO to RF and LO to IF isolation, while conversion loss is specified at only 8 dB across the frequency range of 6 to 12 GHz.

This passive mixer is fabricated in a GaAs MESFET process, and requires no DC bias, external components or matching circuitry. The HMC663LC3 exhibits a wide IF bandwidth of DC to 4 GHz, while operating with LO drive levels as low as +17 dBm. The HMC663LC3 is specified for operation over the -40 to +85ºC temperature range, eliminates the need for wire bonding, and is fully compatible with high volume surface mount manufacturing techniques.
