Millimeter-wave LNAs for Advanced Receiver Front-Ends

January 17, 2011

Endwave Corporation (NASDAQ: ENWV), a provider of high-frequency RF modules for telecommunications networks, defense electronics and homeland security systems, has announced the release of new millimeter-wave JCA Amplifiers(tm) that exhibit exceptionally low noise characteristics over broad bandwidths.

This extension of the JCA family of low noise amplifiers features 6 new models from 26-40 GHz. Features include a noise figure as low as 3.0 dB, gain from 27-37 dB, gain flatness of 3.0 dB, and a maximum input / output VSWR of 2.5:1. Additional performance characteristics include a minimum of +10 dBm output power at P1dB, and DC current of 275 mA @ +15 Vdc.

These amplifiers are ideal for broader bandwidth applications where consistent low noise performance is critical such as in receiver front-ends for electronic warfare (EW) applications. They are built-to-spec in Endwave's automated facility to ensure repeatable performance and can be outfitted with any of the following options: variable gain control, input/output isolators, input limiters, TTL switching, waveguide interfaces, unit-to-unit gain matching and phase tracking, temperature compensation, output power detector, hermetic packages, and bias-T outputs. Special environmental screening is also available.
