MS272XB High-performance Handheld Spectrum Analyzer with Continuous Frequency Coverage from 9 kHz to 20 GHz

January 17, 2011
Anritsu Company introduces the MS2724B, the most advanced ultra-portable spectrum analyzer featuring unparalleled performance and continuous frequency coverage from 9 kHz to 20 GHz at a modest price. Anritsu also introduces the MS2721B and MS2723B handheld spectrum analyzers which offer frequency coverage up to 7.1 GHz and 13 GHz, respectively, as part of its expansion of the industry-leading Spectrum Masterä product line. The high performance and measurement capability of the MS272xB series make it easier for engineers and field technicians to design, deploy, and optimize wireless device and networks performance. The MS2724B’s continuous 9 kHz to 20 GHz frequency coverage gives wireless professionals the range necessary for the most demanding harsh RF and physical environments. Its very low phase noise of typically -104 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset at 2 GHz, and 1 Hz to 3 MHz RBW range make it well suited for spectrum monitoring, security and intelligence needs, RF/microwave measurements, or cellular signal measurements. Both the MS2721B and MS2723B have similar high performance. The MS2721B has low phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz maximum at 10 kHz offset up to 7.1 GHz while the MS2723B has typical phase noise of -104 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset at 2 GHz. RBW range of these units are 1 Hz to 3 MHz, as well. All three of the new models utilize the industry-leading Spectrum Master design, which combines high durability with light weight. The MS2724B and MS2723B are only 3.4 kg (7.5 lb) while the MS2721B is 3.1 kg (<6.9 lb). All three also have a standard built-in AM/FM/SSB demodulator and built-in preamplifier. These three models are the first in the Spectrum Master family to feature a quasi-peak detector and CISPR bandwidths for EMC pre-compliance testing. Additionally, the MS2721B can be equipped with a tracking generator that provides calibrated output from 400 kHz to 7.1 GHz with a power range of 0 to -40 dBm in 0.1 dB steps. The Spectrum Master design’s inherent performance advantages are also realized with the MS2724B, MS2723B, and MS2721B. The MS2721B has best-in-class typical DANL of -163 dBm at 1 GHz in a 1 Hz bandwidth while the MS2723B and MS2724B deliver a DANL of -156 dBm at 1 GHz (1 Hz RBW) with preamplifier on and -139 dBm with the preamplifier off. These instruments have the fastest sweep speeds of any spectrum analyzer in their respective classes. To simplify measurements and ensure accuracy, they also have several smart measurements, including channel power ratio, Carrier to Interference ratio (C/I), and field strength. Designed for the field, the MS272xB Spectrum Master models have a large display and provide more than two hours of battery life. They can also be easily recharged using the lighter connection in a truck. The pricing of the new models is $20,950 for the MS2724B, $17,950 for the MS2723B, and $13,950 for the MS2721B in the U.S. Delivery is 8 weeks ARO for the MS2721B and 12 weeks for the MS2723B and MS2724B.
