Rohde & Schwarz at Productronica 2007

September 20, 2007
Munich, 20 September 2007 — At this year's Productronica in Munich, Rohde & Schwarz (hall A1, booth 375) will showcase numerous innovations and test & measurement highlights optimized for production. The instruments cover the entire bandwidth: production tests for mobile radio and WiMAX terminal equipment, measurement applications in the microwave range, the generation of broadcasting signals, and much more. All-in-one solution for WiMAX mobile station production: R&S CMW270 When it comes to measurement speed, the new R&S CMW270 WiMAX tester is up to ten times faster than existing test solutions. The result is maximum throughput in the production of WiMAX chipsets and mobile stations. Measurement accuracy is also optimized with respect to stability and linearity, thus providing maximum repeatability. The R&S CMW270 combines signal generation and analysis in one instrument. Three calibrated RF connectors in the RF frontend reduce typically complex test setups, thus saving cost, time, and space in production and service. Spectrum analysis for mobile radio and wideband communications: R&S FSG The R&S FSG is a spectrum analyzer for cost-conscious users, tailored to needs specific to the development and production of wireless communications products. It supports 2G and 3G mobile radio standards as well as current wideband technologies such as WiMAX and WLAN. Its demodulation bandwidth of 28 MHz also makes it a future-proof investment in the next generation of mobile radio – UMTS LTE. High dynamic range, a frequency range up to 13.6 GHz, and integrated vector signal analysis also make the R&S FSG a powerful tool for the general analysis of digitally modulated signals. Analog signals up to 6 GHz: R&S SMB100A When a signal source is needed, high signal quality, wide flexibility, and low operating costs are primary considerations. This also holds true in the mid-range class – whether for mobile radio, broadcasting, aerospace & defense or EMC. With these requirements in mind, Rohde & Schwarz has developed the new R&S SMB100A analog signal generator, which has a frequency range of 9 kHz to 6 GHz. The standard-setting generator offers low single sideband (SSB) phase noise of typ. –128 dBc and an output level of >+18 dBm over a wide frequency range of 1 MHz to 6 GHz – a world first in this class. Purest signals for mobile radio/radar applications: R&S SMF100A By introducing the new R&S SMF100A analog microwave signal generator, Rohde & Schwarz is setting new standards in single sideband (SSB) phase noise. The signal generator features a unique value of –115 dBc (at 10 GHz/10 kHz offset), making it ideal for a wide range of telecommunications and radar applications. In addition, its high output power of typ. +25 dBm at 20 GHz and extremely short setting times for frequency and level make the R&S SMF100A the ideal instrument for production. Moreover, the signal generator covers the frequency range of 100 kHz to 43.5 GHz. Compact and cost-efficient for all current standards: R&S SFE The R&S SFE broadcast tester is a signal generator for analog and digital TV and numerous sound broadcasting standards. Up to three standards can be installed simultaneously. The R&S SFE combines an RF modulator, a universal realtime coder, and baseband signal sources in one instrument. It can thus generate broadcast signals in the frequency range of 100 kHz to 2.5 GHz in realtime. Its modular design means that it can easily be adapted to various requirements in the lab, in service, and in production.
