TASC Wins IDIQ Contract to Support Defense Threat Reduction Agency

March 21, 2011

The US Defense Threat Reduction Agency has awarded TASC Inc. an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide advisory and assistance services to the Combat Support and Nuclear Support Directorates of the DTRA Operations Enterprise. The single award contract is valued at $97 M over five years. TASC will focus on contingency planning for weapons of mass destruction and the safety, security and effectiveness of the US nuclear deterrent.

“Possession of WMD and nuclear capability by hostile nations and terrorists is one of the greatest threats to the United States,” said Pamela Drew, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Solutions at TASC. “TASC has supported DTRA and its predecessors for nearly 40 years. This long history positions TASC well to continue to provide DTRA and the nation with the best possible CBRNE program support.”

Under the contract, TASC will support directorate leadership, consequence management, contingency operations and the Defense Threat Reduction University. TASC will also support nuclear programs and stockpile operations to help ensure the effectiveness of the US nuclear deterrent.

“From our long partnership with DTRA, we have a clear understanding of DTRA’s mission to reduce the threat of WMD and nuclear attack,” said Buz Gibson, Vice President of DTRA Programs at TASC. “We are proud to be part of the team that makes our world safer.”

To meet the program objectives, TASC has assembled an expert team from seven subcontractors: Analytic Services Inc. (ANSER); ARServices Ltd.; A-T Solutions; Dynamis Inc.; URS Group Inc.; Universal Solutions International Inc.; and Watermark Risk Management International LLC. Work under the contract will be performed at Fort Belvoir, VA, Kirkland AFB, NM, and the Pentagon.
