The UK’s Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network (NanoKTN) announced details of a product developed by Plessey Semiconductors, as part of a project co-funded by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB), with support from the NanoKTN and JEMI UK.
Analog Devices, Inc. introduced the ADuCM360, a fully integrated, 4-kSPS, 24-bit data acquisition system-on-a-chip incorporating dual, high-performance, multi-channel sigma-delta A/D converters, a 32-bit ARM CortexTMM3MCU, and flash/EE memory.
Cobham Sensor Systems celebrated a production milestone June 14th, when the company produced its 200th Low Band Transmitter Antenna Group, part of the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System used on U.S. Navy and Marine Corps EA-6B Prowler and EA-18G Growler aircraft.
Northrop Grumman Corp.'s AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) system has been delivered to Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island in Eastern Virginia for the government to begin its first and second phases of Developmental Test (DT). The final phase of DT and the Operational Assessment for G/ATOR will be conducted in Yuma, Ariz.
The wireless sensor network market, led by ZigBee, grew ten-fold from 2007 to 2010 and exceeded 45 million annual shipments in 2011. “Strong growth is expected for 2012 and beyond as ZigBee pervades the home automation and home entertainment markets, whilst Smart Meters continue to be rolled out across the globe,” commented Peter Cooney, wireless connectivity practice director.
Linear Technology’s Dust Networks® product group introduces the SmartMesh™ LTC5800 (system-on-chip) and LTP5900 (module) families, the industry’s lowest power IEEE 802.15.4E compliant wireless sensor networking products. SmartMesh ICs and modules enable tiny sensor “motes” to be designed with a battery life of over 10 years, while companion network manager components enable the development of highly robust and secure wireless sensor networks (WSN).
Cassidian and Northrop Grumman reach a milestone with the first full system test flight of EuroHawk® unmanned aircraft system equipped with signals intelligence advanced sensors for detection of radar and communication emitters.
Blighter Surveillance Systems has unveiled a new multi-language version of its BlighterView sensor and control software.
SAGE Millimeter's model SSP-24303-42-D1 is a low cost, production ready K-Band FMCW ranging and directional sensor module. The center frequency of the module is set at 24.125 GHz with +/-150 MHz frequency modulation bandwidth and +3 dBm nominal output power. The sensor operates from a single +5 .0 Vdc power supplier and typically draws 250-mA current and requires 0 to +15 volts voltage swing for electrical tuning.
Fast, precise, highly linear – users working with a frequency range over 67 GHz now also benefit from the unique features of the thermal power sensors from Rohde & Schwarz. The new R&S NRP-Z58 is the world's first power sensor that covers the frequency range continuously from DC to 110 GHz.
