Fairview Microwave Inc. a preeminent supplier of on-demand microwave and RF components, has released a new line of compact hot-switchable variable attenuators. RF attenuators are used to reduce the amplitude of an electronic signature in many common electronic scenarios including lab testing equipment, distributed antenna systems (DAS) and power and signal monitoring systems.

Skyworks Solutions Inc. an innovator of high performance analog semiconductors enabling a broad range of end markets, announced that is has captured high-reliability (hi-rel) and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) sockets with several aerospace and defense suppliers such as Cobham, EADS, Herley and Teledyne.  Skyworks’ solutions are being leveraged for microwave switching, attenuation, receiver protection and mixer and detector applications in commercial and military radios, avionics systems, software defined radios and navigation platforms that support major tier-one aerospace and defense companies such as Boeing, L-3 Communications, Northrup Grumman and Raytheon.

Modelithics Inc. has teamed with Mini-Circuits to develop high-accuracy simulation models of Mini-Circuits’ 3.2 x 1.6 mm case-size surface-mount LFCN Low-pass filters and HFCN High-pass filters. The substrate-scalable models are validated up to 13 GHz, depending on the frequency band specifications of each filter.  

Kaelus, a Smiths Microwave business, announced the launch of the next generation in a line of high performance DAS Interface solutions with the release of the Small Cell RF DAS Point of Interface (POI) Tray. This is a small form factor, low power tray designed specifically for Small Cell DAS deployments with multiple bands and technologies. These low PIM certified, power management trays, allow adjustment of the RF power levels between multiple small cell base stations and the DAS network.

Vaunix , a manufacturer of USB controlled and powered test equipment, has announced the addition of two new models to its family of LDA series digital attenuators. This product family now offers attenuators with up to 120 dB of programmable attenuation through 6,000 MHz.
