Pentek Inc., announced a new line of multiband, modular RF slot receivers: the Model 8111 series accepts RF signals over the range of 800 MHz to 3 GHz, downconverting them to a 225 MHz IF signal suitable for A/D conversion by any of several Pentek signal acquisition modules.

Anritsu Co. introduces three software packages supporting LTE-Advanced and five packages supporting IEEE802.11ac that extend the analysis capability of its MS269xA/MS2830A signal analyzers and MG3710A/MG3700A vector signal generators. Rohde & Schwarz has enhanced its fully integrated R&S SGS100A by adding a model for I/Q modulated signals from 80 MHz to 12.75 GHz. Combined with an I/Q baseband generator, the instrument can be used to generate test signals for all radio standards in this frequency range. As a result, the R&S SGS100A is ideal for X-band signals from 8 GHz to 12 GHz for radar and satellite communications. The I/Q modulator's wide RF bandwidth of 1 GHz makes it possible to generate pulses with high chirp bandwidths and steep pulse edges.   

A highlight at the Rohde & Schwarz booth at the electronica trade fair in Munich, Germany is the new R&S ESR EMI test receiver. Thanks to its broadband architecture, it performs standard-compliant disturbance measurements up to 6000 times faster than other solutions. 

Tektronix Inc. announced that it has expanded its revolutionary MDO4000 series of mixed domain oscilloscopes to include two new entry level models. The new models provide breakthrough time and frequency domain analysis at a more affordable price level.

X-COM Systems LLC, a subsidiary of Bird Technologies Group, introduced Version 3.0 of its Spectro-X software, the industry’s most comprehensive tool designed to search for signals of interest within long-duration recordings of signal activity in the RF and microwave spectrum. The new features in Spectro-X Version 3.0 include a “zoom” function that lets users more easily focus on a specific point in time and frequency, and integrated pulse search and analysis capability that allows long pulse trains to be identified based on key signal characteristics.
