Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology Inc. and its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., received satellite communications equipment orders totaling $12.1 M from a major government prime contractor.

The orders are for follow-on procurements of high-power tri-band amplifiers, high-power Ka-band amplifiers and satellite earth station modems for transportable USAF satellite terminals and will be utilized to expand an existing military network. Deployed throughout the world, these terminals offer users the flexibility of accessing both military and commercial satellites.

Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., stated, "These orders demonstrate our strong technological capabilities in supporting key military programs as well as the strong combination of two Comtech subsidiaries in order to jointly bring the best of our organization to our customer."

The order for Comtech Xicom Technology products includes C-, X-, Ku-band tri-band amplifiers and Ka-band antenna mount amplifiers. These amplifiers feature high linear power and are operational at high ambient temperatures. Initial deliveries started in 2005 and 2006. The system is packed into transit cases and shippable on a single pallet, making it ideal for global Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) mission service.
