Welcome to the March edition of The WaveGuide. By now, you have received a handful of these newsletters, and my hope is that you have found them useful. Our goal is two-fold; to present relevant B2B marketing tips from MWJ and our partners and to keep you informed on upcoming opportunities at MWJ.

This month, Julie Teinert of Mimix Broadband has provided her insight on “Integrated Marketing: The Optimal Meeting Point,” in which she outlines the principles behind this value-driven concept. In addition, a veritable glossary of Social Media tools is presented from Jason Baer of Social Media Today. Editor David Vye rounds out the coverage with comments on his recent experience at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, Spain, as well as a preview of the planned editorial for our annual MTT-S IMS show issue in April and the always popular May issue, focused on Amplifiers and Oscillators.

As for upcoming opportunities at MWJ, there are several major ones on the horizon. Last month I discussed the added-value opportunities for advertisers in the April show issue that provides a bonus print and online component to your ad insertion. Now is the time to book your ad if you have not done so already, as the deadline is March 18th. Do not forget to send your new product info to Jenn DiMarco for the “New Waves” section of the magazine. Also coming up this month is the second annual RF/Microwave Zone pavilion at CTIA Wireless. If you plan to attend this major event, be sure to stop by the “Zone” in the Central Hall to network with fellow industry professionals. Speaking of shows, if you are exhibiting at Satellite 2010 this month, contact editor Pat Hindle to set-up an appointment. His calendar is getting full, so get to him soon!

The MWJ/Besser Associates webinar series has proven to be extremely popular with engineers and a major lead generating source for sponsors. We have expanded our webinar coverage by partnering with Strategy Analytics, a leading international research and consulting firm. The January debut event, titled “Fundamentals and Application of AESA Radar,” drew more than 1,600 registrants! The next installment is scheduled for April and covers “The State of Compound Semiconductors.” Sponsorship of this webinar is now available.

Last, but not least, I am happy to report that we will be providing newsletter coverage of the MTT-S again this year. Pre-show coverage begins in April and runs through May, with daily reporting during the event. Our newsletter coverage of the European Microwave Week in Rome, Italy, last fall was very popular with both readers and sponsors. Click on the following graphic for a full view of a sample newsletter:

Microwave Journal is the official sponsor of the IMS “Cyber Café”, adding greater exposure for this newsletter, which will be distributed to more than 50,000 subscribers. A very limited number of sponsorships are now available, on a first-come basis, so contact your sales representative for details and schedules.

The weather is finally warming up and show season is heating up. It should be an “eventful” month.

As always, I welcome your comments and your participation. If you would like to submit an article for an upcoming edition of The WaveGuide, please contact me.

Best Regards,
