In response to the increased demand for its products in China, the German laser specialist, LPKF Laser & Electronics AG has added two new offices in Chengdu and Beijing to the network, which includes branches in Tianjin, Suzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The new offices are led by staff who have lengthy experience working at LPKF Tianjin.

The company’s CEO, Ingo Bretthauer, explained, "Potential customers are increasingly interested in complete customer care which is fast and local. They want us to be nearby. Especially the location of Chengdu is strategically important because the city is located far west in the heartland. Together with the northern, eastern and southern locations, large areas of China can now be supplied with our products and services.”

Tasks of the subsidiaries are to provide both local distribution and service and therefore both will be equipped with demo systems for presentations. Samples can also be produced on the premises.

The company’s success story in Asia began in 1985, when LPKF entered the Chinese market with rapid prototyping systems. Since then, the company has recorded steady growth in Asia, with China holding an above average share.
