Harris Stratex Networks Inc., a provider of wireless solutions that enable the evolution of next-generation fixed and mobile broadband networks, announced it has received US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Rural Development product acceptance for two additional wireless transmission products. In response to customer demand for high-capacity TDM and Ethernet broadband solutions for the US government’s broadband stimulus program, Harris Stratex secured RUS listing for products within the Eclipse™ and TRuepoint® 5000 platforms. These products are ideal for use in telecommunications systems operated by RUS loan program borrowers.

RUS acceptance is recommended for broadband stimulus funding provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) and required for operators requesting federal funds from the USDA Rural Broadband Access Loan program for the purpose of purchasing and deploying broadband systems in rural communities—programs designed to stimulate rural economies and enhance overall quality of life through programs such as distance learning and telemedicine.
