Alcatel-Lucent, through its Chinese flagship company Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell, and Datang Mobile have announced that their consortium has been selected by China Mobile for deployment of its phase III TD-SCDMA mobile networks in 11 provinces – Guangdong, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanxi, Anhui, Liaoning, Gansu, Ningxia, Xinjiang and Guizhou.

This next phase builds on successful network roll outs in previous phases. Since 2004, Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell and Datang Mobile have engaged in a strategic partnership to develop TD-SCDMA solutions in China. In December 2008, they provided their industry-leading TD-SCDMA solutions for 11 of the 28 cities covered by China Mobile’s phase II TD-SCDMA network, including Nanjing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Changchun, Hefei, Guiyang, Kunming, Xi'an, Lanzhou, Yinchuan and Urumqi.
