Herley Industries Inc. announced that it has received an option award exceeding $4.7 M to supply Tactical Instrument Landing Systems (TILS) for both the F/A-18E/F/G and E-2D Naval aircraft.

The AN/ARA-63 TILS is a microwave landing system that provides precise elevation and azimuth guidance information necessary for critical aircraft carrier landings.

Myron Levy, Herley's Chairman and CEO, stated, "My congratulations go to George Rounsaville of our Chicago office, who continues to manage the AN/ARA-63 program. Herley has been successfully producing the Tactical Instrument Landing Systems since we acquired Stewart Warner in 1995. The Tactical Instrument Landing System began as an initial multi-year contract for the F/A-18E/F Boeing 'Super Hornet' and is being expanded to cover the E/A-18G 'Growler' jammer aircraft and the E-2D 'Advanced Hawkeye' radar surveillance aircraft. This is the fourth award against the five-year contract for Herley, and the third of the four option years."
