Valpey Fisher, a distributor and manufacturer of custom and standard frequency control products, announced it has been awarded a $250,000 design win from a leading provider of wireless fire detection systems for their low cost surface-mount voltage-controlled oscillators (VCO) line of products.
“This business came as a direct result of our ability to provide quick turn delivery,” said Mike Ferrantino, vice president, Valpey Fisher, Control Components Group. “We have at our disposal a vast range of base-line models that allow us to quickly generate custom versions in a matter of a few days. This capability combined with our fully automated high capacity production line offers a custom solution at high volume and low cost—a win-win situation for the customer.”
“The VCOs have frequencies up to 5 GHz, wide tunability and a host of packaging options,” explained Ferrantino. “These features provide customers with a high precision signal source for their wireless applications including ISM bands, D-AMPS, GSM, CDMA, TDMA, GPS, WLAN and Point to Point Radio. In addition to a discrete VCO, we can offer the customer a turn-key Phased Lock Loop (PLL) solution. Customers can work with our engineers to design a custom PLL solution utilizing our VCO and one of our high precision reference clocks. This higher level of integration offers our customers real value in cost and time savings.”
