L-3 Electron Technologies Inc. announced the introduction of its model 8928H 150 W K-band Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) amplifier. Designed for electronic countermeasure and instrumentation applications, the new broadband TWT has a remarkably small footprint and weighs less than four pounds.

“The 8928H positions L-3 ETI to support our electronic warfare and instrumentation customers with market-leading broadband RF power spanning 18 to 50 GHz,” said Alan Piring, L-3 ETI’s vice president of military and telecom TWT products. “This important addition to our product offering enhances our expanding family of high-efficiency, high-power millimeter wave helix TWTs for SATCOM uplink, radar, electronic countermeasures and instrumentation applications.”

L-3 ETI’s model 8928H TWT operates at the 18 to 26.5 GHz frequency range and incorporates focus electrode modulation to allow both CW and pulsed operation. With this introduction, L-3 ETI now offers a full complement of broadband millimeter-wave TWTs, including the 8929H 150 W Ka-band TWT (26.5 to 40 GHz) and the 8905H-5 70 W Q-band TWT (40 to 50 GHz).
