Comsys Communication and Signal Processing, a leader in wireless baseband solutions, today announced that it will be participating in both the exhibition and the seminar program at WiMAX Forum Global Congress, which takes place in Amsterdam on 17 – 18 June 2008.

Mr Avi Sharon, Product Manager, will present the Comsys advantage on “WiMAX vendors working together creating the ecosystem to make WiMAX work” at 11:50 on Tuesday 17 June in the Seminar Auditorium. Mr Ronny Gorlicki, Executive VP Sales, will give a presentation on “Multimode & Service Continuity in the 4th Generation: Transition and Evolution“ at 16:00 on Wednesday 18 June.

In addition, Comsys’ CEO, Mr. Elkana Ben Sinai, will be in attendance at this event, and will be available to meet with all interested parties and fill them in on the company’s plans for the near future, including evolving its technology towards LTE.

Comsys will present its converged cellular/Mobile WiMAX reference design platforms – including the ComMAX multimode Mobile WiMAX/GSM-EDGE ExpressCard/34 Reference Design Platform that recently received a WiMAX World EMEA 2008 award – at the Comsys booth #3.52, to which all are invited.

All these platforms feature Comsys’ ComMAX™ CM1125 multi-standard baseband processor that supports both GPRS/EDGE and Mobile WiMAX. The platforms offer OEMs and ODMs a rapid development path and a fast time to market when implementing converged cellular/Mobile WiMAX functionality.

“For WiMAX to fulfil its maximum potential it will be essential for terminals to provide multimode capability from the outset,” commented Elkana Ben Sinai. “Comsys is committed to delivering a full multimode solution as a means of enabling service continuity, and to playing a leading role in the Mobile WiMAX ecosystem. Our ComMAX line of solutions benefits from our extensive cellular experience, and enables OEMs and ODMs to produce a versatile solution for handset designers that will shorten time to market.”
