Harris Stratex Networks is expanding its operations in East Africa, adding sales and engineering support in its Kenya facility and opening a new office in Tanzania. The aim is to support telecommunications suppliers in the region as they build next-generation networks. To do so they require advanced and comprehensive wireless transmission solutions such as Harris Stratex Networks’ Truepoint® and Eclipse™ microwave radio systems and NetBoss® integrated network management for monitoring and management.

The Kenya and Tanzania offices will include program management, network engineering, customer service and sales staff to better support customers implementing these solutions. The initiative illustrates the company’s commitment to the region. It continues to build a significant presence throughout eastern and central Africa, with customer installations in Nigeria, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, in addition to Kenya and Tanzania.

"By co-locating service, engineering and support to provide expanded resources in these key markets, we are ensuring that our growing customer base in East Africa will have the necessary expertise and experience close at hand to ensure the success of their expanding networks," said Paul Kennard, vice president, International Sales at Harris Stratex Networks. "We have assembled a dedicated, experienced team with a comprehensive skill set in strategic locations to optimize service response and quality for all of our customers."
