Redline Communications and Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices are privately testing the interoperability of their WiMAX Forum-certified broadband wireless products, the two companies have announced.

Designed to augment interoperability testing already conducted by the Forum, the private testing is being conducted under the auspices of the Redline Ecosystem Verification (REV) program with the ultimate goal of accelerating the deployment of interoperable WiMAX devices.

In this instance, the REV program will conduct tests to confirm that carriers can incorporate Redline’s mobile WiMAX products with Siemens gear, including outdoor modems as the telecom industry prepares to use mobile WiMAX as a new form of broadband wireless transmission.
