Mimix Broadband Introduces 37 to 42 GHz SMT Packaged Linear Power Amplifier

Mimix Broadband Inc. introduced a surface-mount (SMT) packaged four stage GaAs MMIC linear power amplifier with +35 dBm OIP3 and 23 dB small signal gain.


This power amplifier, identified as XP1031-QK, covers 37 to 42 GHz and comes in a high performance, RoHS compliant, 7x7mm SMT package, offering excellent RF and thermal properties. This device is ideal for wireless communications applications such as point-to-point radio, LMDS, SATCOM and VSAT applications, and can be used in conjunction with Mimix's XR1008-QB receiver and XU1006-QB transmitter to form a complete SMT 38 GHz transceiver solution.

"Our latest design of a highly linear 38 GHz packaged power amplifier completes the transmit portion of a typical linear radio and, together with our integrated XR1008-QB receiver and XU1006-QB transmitter, forms the industry's first full SMT 38 GHz integrated chipset," said Damian McCann, CTO, Mimix Broadband Inc. "Excellent performance and ease of integration give our customers greater design control in a spectrum traditionally dominated by die-level or single function packaged parts." Mimix performs 100 performs RF, DC and output power testing on the XP1031-QK. Samples are available today from stock, and production quantities will be available very soon.
