Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that its Melville, New York-based subsidiary, Comtech PST Corp., has received $8.7 M of orders from a domestic prime contractor to supply broadband, solid-state, high power radio signal jamming amplifiers and switches.

These amplifiers and switches, which include the latest solid-state transistor and switching technology and provide for very broad frequency coverage, are key components in jamming systems used to defeat the threat of Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIED).

Fred Kornberg, president and chief executive office of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., said, "In addition to providing a vital component in protecting our troops from the ever-evolving threat of radio controlled road side bombs, Comtech's participation in the Counter RCIED Electronic Warfare (CREW) program allows us to showcase our latest developments in the next generation of amplifier technology and our high volume production capabilities."
