Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., received orders totaling $11.5 M under its Movement Tracking System, or MTS contract, with the US Army.

The orders are for the Army National Guard's acquisition of MTS installation kits and technical support services. Total orders received to date against the $463.2 M US Army logistics contract, including these National Guard orders, increased to $416.2 M.

The $11.5 M in orders are primarily for the supply of installation kits and technical support services to continue the deployment of MTS equipment throughout the Army National Guard, and are funded and issued pursuant to the supplemental Army National Guard and Army Reserve Equipment Plan. To date, orders to Comtech from this supplement total $68.3 M.

Fred Kornberg, president and chief executive officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., said, "We are pleased to have received these follow-on orders from the Army National Guard.

The supplemental funding bill continues to enable further deployment of our field-proven technology used extensively by the US Army and Army National Guard in areas of conflict, such as Iraq and Afghanistan, to be placed directly in the hands of the National Guard's first responders here in the States."
