Anritsu Co. introduced the MS2690A and MS2691A signal analyzers that have superior measurement performance and speed compared to comparable analyzers in their class. Covering the 50 Hz to 6 GHz frequency range, the MS2690A/MS2691A can be used during R&D and production to conduct highly accurate measurements on next-generation wireless communications systems, as well as devices and base stations.

Both the MS2690A and MS2691A can conduct fast and accurate measurements at frequencies of 3.6 GHz and higher, compared to competitive models whose performance degrades above the 3 GHz band-switch points. These analyzers are fundamental up to 6 GHz and have no band-switch points from 50 Hz to 6 GHz.

The MS2690A and MS2691A have an average noise level of -155 dBm/Hz at 2 GHz and a third-order intercept of +22 dBm at 2 GHz. These specifications allow “Category B” measurements on 3G mobile terminals without filters and amplifiers. Total level accuracy is +/-0.5 dB all the way to 6 GHz, allowing the analyzers to accurately measure transmit power of devices and systems for Mobile WiMAX and Wireless LANs. When the Mobile WiMAX Measurement Software and W-CDMA BS Measurement Software are installed, the analyzers conduct modulation analysis 20x faster than previous Anritsu models.

A high performance digitizer is standard in the products. RF signals up to 31.25 MHz can be captured with high accuracy because the digitizer function minimizes signal degradation in the RF signal path. The data acquired can be used by external analysis tools such as The MathWorks MATLAB without prior calibration.

A high performance vector signal generator option is available and offers high level accuracy and ACLR performance, as well as BER measurement and AWGN functionality. This option allows the MS2690A/MS2691A to act as a one-box testers that supports both transmitter and receiver testing.

The MS2690A has a base price of $33,000 US, while the MS2691A has a US base price of $39,000. Delivery is eight weeks ARO.
